Plans and Packages: Terms and Conditions
Defying Disaster works with you to create a plan that puts essential information, tailored to your family, at your fingertips. The following terms and conditions will help to assure that your family receives a disaster plan that is as complete and effective as possible. Your cooperation is essential.
Household Preparedness Packages require at least one home visit to customize materials and resources for each household.
- Level 1 and 2 Household Preparedness Programs include 1 visit
- Level 3 Program includes 2 visits
- Level 4 Program includes 3-6 visits
2. Mileage may be charged for homes located beyond the area encompassing Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Sonoma, Napa, Solano and San Francisco counties
3. To assure that customization of Preparedness Programs can be completed in a timely manner, it is necessary for clients to provide certain non-sensitive information to Defying Disaster prior to the first home visit.
4. We make every attempt to complete your plan within the 3 hour period allotted for home visits. If additional time is required as may be the case with large families or inaccessible information, a charge of $50 per hour will apply after 3.5 hours.
- If additional visits beyond those contracted are required in order to complete the Disaster Program, each additional visit will be charged at $50 per hour, with a 2 hour minimum.
- Travel time will also be charged at $50 per hour, for additional visits
5. No warranties, expressed or implied, are made.
6. We retain only contact information for our records.
7. Disaster preparedness programs become the client’s property after they are completed and applicable charges paid.
8.Please respect our time. Due to demand for our services and the travel time necessary for home visits, we require a minimum of 24 hours notice to cancel a home visit. No exceptions. There is a $75 charge for cancellations received less than 24 hours in advance.
