Testimonials
My husband and I had never lived in an earthquake riddled state until our move to Northern California a year ago. We knew that there was some sort of preparedness we should have, but didn’t know where to look. So we began asking around. We heard, “don’t worry, earthquakes, they’re nothing” to ways to secure our valuables with museum putty.
But what about water, heat, food, the utilities? Luckily for us we found an Earthquake Preparedness class by Roslyn Potter being held in a few weeks at our local library. Instead of feeling nervous about a disaster we now feel prepared and calm. We learned about having an out of state contact person to pass along information to the rest of our family and friends back east. We now have a posted evacuation plan for us and our many guests. We know how and when to turn off the gas. We have supplies and water stored. We have extra essentials like underclothing and clothes, because as I told my husband, ” I’m not going to be one of those people interviewed for the evening news living on their front yard in two day old pajamas and dirty hair!”. Yes, our emergency kit includes shampoo and toothpaste.
We now have our disaster plan and supplies ready, and feel that our safety and well being have been secured. Thank you Roslyn.
